The article discusses the development of parliamentarism in Russia in the light of the 30th anniversary of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. The study examines certain key aspects of the activities of Parliament, the tasks and prospects for improving its work, which are related to the development of the constitutional and legal status of a deputy and senator; the role and significance of Parliament in a unified system of public power, in the system of interaction with the Government of Russia; the opportunity to improve the quality of legislative activity. It is proposed to legislatively develop provisions on the interaction of a deputy with voters, the possibility of them sending proposals on the agenda of meetings with people’s representatives. Attention is paid to the possibility of revising legislative acts of the Soviet period, the implementation of which is virtually impossible.
