“The Belt and Road” initiative has brought broad development prospects to the cross-cultural exchanges of variety shows in our country. It has also given the creation of variety shows a higher mission of the times. Under this national strategic background, the cross-cultural exchanges of variety shows can be described as opportunities and challenges coexist.This article uses experimental methods and text analysis methods to study the cross-cultural exchange planning of the variety show “Divas Hit The Road Season V”, analyzes its cross-cultural exchange effects and the realistic path for program planning to achieve cross-cultural exchange, and provides constructive suggestions for film and television creation in the context of global communication of the “The Belt and Road” initiative.
