Various types of identity, the main factors of their formation, and the change of mental characteristics under the influence of the war disaster are analyzed. It shows how important worldview and cultural factors are in developing national identity, the negative impact of forced assimilation of the population, and manifestations of resistance to aggression and wrongdoing, which leads to the activation and change of national identity.
