The article presents selected issues of current ampacity for a 110 kV power transmission line using a multiple regression model. Electricity distribution companies operating under free-market conditions are increasingly facing the problem of increasing the transmission capacity of their networks. This is related to the increasing demand for electricity from consumers, as well as the emergence of new sources of electricity, mainly renewable sources of electricity. This increase in electricity demand necessitates the need to upgrade existing and build new electricity networks. An alternative solution is the use of dynamic load systems in existing networks. The permissible current in these solutions is adapted to the prevailing external conditions. Determining the ampacity of a electric cable requires complex calculations using mathematical models. The multiple regression model presented in the article for the analysis of ampacity of a 110 kV overhead transmission line was also used to predict the line load current for selected values of air temperature and wind speed.
