Incidence of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) is increasing. It has become major risk factor for morbidity & mortality (1,2,3,). Many markers of glycaemic control Like Fasting & Postprandial Blood Sugar levels (FBSL & PP BSL), Glycated Haemoglobin (HbA1C)& C Reactive Protein(CRP). These can help to diagnose, treat & prevent complications. Of these high-sensitivity (hs-CRP) as an independent predictor of increased CVD (CVD) in T2DM (5,6,7). Aims: To study correlation between glycaemic control, CRP&CVD in patients ofT2DM. Objectives: 1. To study clinical prole, CRP,F BSL, HbA1C, Electrocardiogram (ECG) & 2 Dimentional echocardiography((2D ECHO) in patients with T2DM. 2. To correlate HbA1C, CRP &CVD in patients of T2DM. Material and methods: Study design -Descriptive study. Study population-All the patients of T2DM >18 yrs. attending Medicine Department at Bharati Hospital & Medical College, Sangli. Inclusion criteria: Diagnosed cases of T2DM above 18 yrs of age. Exclusion criteria: Patients on Statins, Thiazolididiones, Anti-inammatory drugs, Steroids. Known cases of Hemoglobinopathies, Malignancy. Study variables: Age, Sex, FBSL, HbA1c.ECG,2D ECHO. Sample size: Patient admitted in Bharati Hospital during study period Sampling technique: Purposive Sampling. Observation & Results- Our study concluded that,FBSL,HbA1C and CRPwere raised suggesting uncontrolled diabetic status. Even Waist Hip ratio was much altered in patients. Asignicant correlation was found between CRP levels and cardiac complications. The study has positive association between BMI& HbA1c levels. Also between FBSL levels and HbA1c levels. To summarise estimating CRPprovide a sensitive prediction of cardiovascular complexities inT2DM.
