Objectives: Aging is associated with general body deterioration and falls are also associated with the aging. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Circuit training on balance, endurance ability and higher mental functions in elderly. Methods: 30 elderly participants were randomly allocated into two groups- group 1 (conventional training group) with mean age (63.53 ± 2.13) and BMI (28.11 ± 4.14) kg/m2 and group 2 (circuit training group) with mean age (63 ± 2.17) and BMI (26.86 ± 3.23) kg/m2. Berg balance scale, timed up & go test, two-minute walk test and Mini mental state examination were assessed before and after 4 weeks of training. Training session included 3 sessions for 35 minutes per week for 4 weeks. Result: T test was used to analyze the data. There was a signicant improvement in balance, endurance and higher mental functions in both the groups. But when compared to each other, group 2 was found to be signicantly improved. Discussion –After 4 weeks of circuit training, balance, endurance as well as higher mental functions can be improved in elderly when compared to conventional training. More studies can be done by doing it gender specic and more sample sizes.
