An Overview of Contemporary Kyrgyz Language Education Policy

Language education policy plays an important role in the country's cultural ecology, education system and international exchange, which is related to the shaping of national language ability and cultural accomplishment, the inheritance and promotion of national culture, the unity and stability of multi-ethnic society and international competitiveness. This paper reviews the development process of the Kyrgyz language education policy, and sorts out the content of the Kyrgyz language education policy by means of literature reading and policy text analysis. The Kyrgyz language education policy involves the promotion of Kyrgyz national language education, language planning in the field of education, minority language education, foreign language education and the formulation of relevant laws and policies for language education. The results show that through a series of laws, regulations and policy measures, the Kyrgyz government has effectively promoted the status and popularity of the Kyrgyz language, promoted the inheritance and development of the national language, and promoted the diversification of foreign language education. The implementation of these language education policies has not only enhanced the cultural confidence and national identity of the people of Kyrgyzstan, but also laid a solid foundation for the cultural prosperity of Kyrgyzstan and the improvement of its international competitiveness.
