Developing Korean traditional music classes for elementary ecological transformation education and exploring the possibility of linking subjects based on the 2022 revised curriculum

Objectives This study attempted to develop Korean traditional music classes for ecological transformation education emphasized at the national level due to climate change, and to explore the possibility of linking subjects centering on the 2022 revised curriculum. Methods To this end, we first looked at the direction and status of ecological transformation education, focusing on the curriculum and the metropolitan and provincial offices of education. Second, the relationship between climate and agricultural culture was examined, focusing on agricultural labor songs and farm households. Third, a Korean traditional music class was developed for ecological transformation education. Fourth, the possibility of linking subjects was explored based on the 2022 revised curriculum. Results The Korean traditional music class for ecological transformation education was developed as a project class for the 7th session under the theme of Save the HOT(Hot. Our. Try.) Earth. After understanding the relationship between climate and crops through Madengyisori and Farmhouse Wolryeongga, he visited the OO Eco Center to experience climate and ecological change, and embodied teaching and learning activities with a climate action calendar to be implemented as a project output. According to the achievement standards for each subject, the possibility of linking Korean traditional music classes for ecological transformation education was discovered for all grades of elementary school, and an integrated model of Fogarty was proposed as a subject-linked model to realize this. Conclusions This study has the characteristics of a preliminary study to develop ecological conversion education for a sustainable life centered on Korean classical music classes and to explore subject connection in the 2022 revised curriculum in order to increase the possibility of realization in the educational field. Therefore, based on the research results, suggestions were made from various perspectives, such as the application of fishing labor songs, proposals for agricultural labor songs for each subject, and the use of learning of the lunar and solar calendar.
