Objectives To derive implications for supporting implementation of the Revised National Curriculum 2022, this study examines how Singapore supports national curriculum implementation and innovation in schools based on the recognition that school-led curriculum innovation is critical for achieving the vision of the new curriculum. Methods We analyzed relevant literature and websites regarding curriculum implementation in Singapore and had consultation with local experts for validating the analysis. Results According to the analysis, it is found that Singapore puts great emphasis on enhancing teachers' professionalism so that they can lead curriculum innovation in schools. First, individual teachers are promoted to take professional development according to their needs and with the support from school leaders. Second, various professional learning teams in schools initiate inquiry projects for curriculum innovation. Third, school leaders are considered the key for realizing school-level curriculum innovation, so there is much emphasis and support on cultivating their curriculum leadership. Finally, every school runs a quality assessment on their curriculum implementation based on the School Excellence Model. Conclusions From the findings, this study suggests that to support school-led curriculum innovation as promoted by the new national curriculum, it is essential to offer customized professional development according to individual teachers' needs and their school contexts; support various types of professional learning communities; improve school leaders' curriculum leadership; develop an autonomous school-based quality management system; and promote cooperation among key institutions to support curriculum implementation in diverse schools.
