This article aims to compare the Earthen fortification of Silla, Baekje, and Gaya to understand the structure and construction techniques of Daegu Dalseong. A total of three surveys on the walls of Dalseong were conducted during the long period from the Japanese colonial period to 2016. Since the survey of the Dalseong Wall has been limited, it is difficult to infer clearly due to fundamental limitations in estimating construction techniques and processes. As a result, the characteristics of each construction process were extracted by selecting a method of listing various hypotheses for each construction process. As a result of the review, it was found that Dalseong was in a special position among the Silla fortification. The confirmation of the possibility of the existence of a structure built prior to the construction of the First build Wall raises questions about the existence and status of the forces occupied even before the construction of Dalseong. In addition, Silla's largest provincial fortification of 1,300m was built, and the construction technology is embankment structure, so it seems that it was built before the introduction of the stamped arthen wall. Since the current data are estimated to be in the 4th century, it is of great value as a comparative data with the king's capital Gyeongju Wolseong. After that, it seems to have been rebuilding as a extension or Stone-walled fortification to Earthen fortification at some point in the 5th century. In particular, it is noteworthy that the Stone-walled technology identified in the outer wall stonework is different from the Stone-walled technology of Silla Stone-walled fortification that have been discussed so far, and rather, it has a strong similarity to the recently identified fortification in Daegu. The characteristics of the detailed techniques extracted amid the changes in Dalseong are those of the time sufficiently proven through comparison with the Silla, Baekje, and Gaya fortification that coexisted at the same time. Rather, since the time when each technology was implemented in Dalseong was relatively early, it can be seen that it is an important data for the construction technology of the Silla fortification and further the study of ancient civil engineering history.
