The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference between the importance of marital communication, current possession, and future needs of couples living in Gyeonggi-do, and to understand educational needs. To this end, after conducting a survey on couples with children living in Gyeonggi-do, analysis was conducted through the t-test, The Focus for Focus model. The results of the study are as follows. As a result of analyzing the importance and necessity of marital communication, the importance was high at 4,74 points and the necessity was also high at 4.74. Second, items 22, 28, 1, 7, 9, 4, 6, 29, 25, 20, 19, 23, 17, 12, 18, 10 belonged to the top priority area, and items 1, 15, 14, 8, 16, 5, 27, 21, 13, 26, and 24 belonged to the neglect area. Third, in marital communication, items 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 17, 18, 20, 22, 25, 28, and 29 showed statistically significant differences in current performance and future necessity. The implications of the study are as follows. First, intensive communication education on marital communication is required. Second, it is necessary to develop a customized communication program between the couple's gender in consideration of the gender characteristics of the couple. Third, it is necessary to develop a marital communication education program linked to the marriage cycle, such as a prospective couple, a newlywed couple, a middle-aged couple, and an elderly couple. The results of this study are expected to be used as basic data when developing a marital communication education program.
