The article examines the problems and prospects of legal regulation for the digitalization of the implementation of the competence of municipal structures. The author highlights the gap between the integration of digital technologies in public administration and the development and testing of specific legal mechanisms that guarantee the effectiveness of the new digital format of operation of public law entities. The analysis of federal, regional, and municipal laws revealed inconsistency and controversies in the implemented legal solutions, as well as a lack of their systematization and preliminary elaboration. The elimination of this shortcoming may be considered as a priority area for the improvement of Russian law.
