This study investigates the factors contributing to reading anxiety among grade 11 students studying English as a foreign language at MA Nahdlatul Wathan Licin High School in Banyuwangi. Using a qualitative research method with a case study approach, the study aimed to comprehensively examine the sources of anxiety faced by students, including challenges in text comprehension, vocabulary acquisition, fear of mistakes, and teacher-related aspects. Through interviews and observations, the researchers identified key elements that trigger reading anxiety, seeking to equip educators and learners with a deeper understanding of these factors. Using data reduction, visualization, inference and validation techniques, the study investigated the influence of anxiety variables on English learning outcomes, offering valuable insights to help students overcome reading anxiety through personalized strategies and support. This research underscores the importance of addressing anxiety levels to improve students' learning experience and reading comprehension, emphasizing the importance of tailored interventions to reduce anxiety and promote effective language learning in EFL contexts.
