Analysis of Translation Techniques in Animation Film Subtitlen “Ibnu Sina” Versi Arabic Cartoon

This research aims to analyze the This study aims to analyse the translation techniques in the subtitles of the Arabic Cartoon version of the animated film "Ibn Sina". The problems encountered are 1. the complexity of the translation process, 2. the translator's lack of expertise in the receiving language which may result in interference, 3. the translator's lack of understanding of translation theory, 4. the significant difference between Arabic and Indonesian, which requires the translator to choose the right technique. The method used is descriptive qualitative by analysing the subtitles from episodes 1 to 3. The research objective of this study is to provide in-depth insight into the application of translation techniques in an audiovisual context. The results show that the dominant translation techniques used are literal and adaptation as well as other techniques including common equivalence, transposition, linguistic amplification, borrowing, compensation, reduction, calcue, generalisation, particularization and descriptive.
