The research is motivated by the many emerging leadership model practices found today based on models from the United States, Europe, Japan, and China, giving the impression that Indonesian people do not have a model to organize or lead an organization. If studied in depth, existing local wisdom teaches a lot about leadership models. Local wisdom spread in various Indonesian communities, one of which is in the Mentawai Islands Regency contains various leadership models that can be used for organizational structuring, especially employee professionalism. This study aims to examine the perceptions of employees under the coordination of the Head of BKPSDM Mentawai Islands Regency using the theory of Local Culture-Based Leadership. Qualitative research uses a descriptive type of case study research because it wants to know and provide an overview of the circumstances studied. Data collection techniques are carried out by observation techniques, interviews, and documentation of informant determination based on consideration of knowledge and experience of the object of research. The results showed that the decision-making aspect involved all officials and staff. The formulation of problems is discussed together and not only the opinions of the leader but officials and staff in the environment contribute to the problems faced. In the aspect of conflict control, controlling conflicts is by the leader using power and authority and follow-up to resolve conflicts. In the aspect of building teamwork, the leader gives encouragement and input, and the leader has an important role in building the team.
