Storytelling Study based on the Gongju City Festival: Focusing on the Case of Gongju City and Edinburgh Festival

The purpose of this study is to suggest ways to develop cultural content through Gongju City's history, culture, and festival resources. In order to achieve the research purpose, this study sought to establish differentiated values based on the paradigm shift in Gongju City's dynamic cultural tourism interpretation method and the case of the Edinburgh International Festival. Gongju City, like the world-renowned Edinburgh International Festival, is a region with a royal castle from the Baekje era and a variety of festivals. Therefore, Gongju City has the potential to provide various attractions, fun, and entertainment elements and realize differentiated value through efficient operation, planning, and integration of local festivals using storytelling techniques. Gongju City will develop differentiated festival content, invite traditional folk performance groups from various countries, provide attractive content for visitors, and have the potential to host a differentiated festival on a global scale in stages.
