The article examines individually authored neologisms created in contemporary poetry texts and motivated by precedent anthroponyms. The aim of the research is to determine the specifics of individually authored anthroponym-based derivatives formed from precedent names in the poetic texts of contemporary authors. The research is novel in that it is the first to consider individually authored anthroponym-based units formed from precedent names in relation to contemporary poetic works. In addition, the role of such units in the representation of the individual type of poetic thinking is revealed. During a comprehensive analysis of authorial anthroponym-based units, their functional-stylistic features, phonosemantic potential are studied, reminiscences are actualized, and a linguocultural commentary is given. As a result of the research, the sources of precedent anthroponyms are found, the link between the degree of expressiveness and the type of word-formation model is evaluated, associative-imaginative connections between the denoted phenomena, which cause a certain emotional response in the reader’s mind, are revealed.
