The purpose of this research is to thoroughly study the development of Chinese piano music as a national phenomenon, with a focus on the influence of folk culture on the formation of the style and character of this musical genre. The scientific novelty of the research lies in a systematic analysis of the relationship between piano creativity of Chinese composers and national culture, taking into account the specifics of regional musical traditions and instrumental features that have not been sufficiently systematised or researched before. The research methodology is based on a careful analysis of literary sources, musical compositions, and arrangements. The application of this methodology allows for the systematisation and interpretation of the historical and contemporary contexts of the formation of Chinese piano music. Considering a wide range of sources enables the identification of various aspects of the influence of national culture on this musical domain. Conclusions. In conclusion, it can be noted that Chinese piano music demonstrates a high level of ethnocultural richness, where the values of national culture have become the foundation for the development of this art form. Diverse connections with vocal, instrumental, and dance traditions have actively contributed to shaping piano music as a national phenomenon. Moreover, the reproduction of folklore elements by composers contributes to the constant enrichment and renewal of the sonic and technical aspects of piano music, opening up new prospects for the development of this art form in China.
