A description is given of the proposed advanced technology of selective coal extraction by layer-by-layer strip mining using surface miners, scrapers and dump trucks in the Russian Far East, which allows to eliminate the downtime of the surface miner when changing dump trucks, to partially reduce the downtime of dump trucks during loading, to increase productivity and thus to obtain a significant income. The economic forecast from the application of the proposed method is presented in comparison with the drilling and blasting mining.
