The importance of physical training and constant maintenance of an adequate level of combat readiness of servicemen in everyday life has always played an important role in the performance of military professional activities, and in the context of resistance of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine against the aggressor of the Russian Federation, it has become even more relevant and the search for ways to solve important problems in ensuring the physical, psychological and combat readiness of servicemen to perform military professional activities arising in the process of military training and education. The article is devoted to highlighting and analyzing the personal characteristics of cadets studying in different specializations and differing in the performance of certain tasks of military professional activity. The study also revealed that the dynamics of motor skills development correlates with personality traits. The results showed that the personal characteristics of cadets have differences in military and professional activities in accordance with the specialization of training. At the same time, the personal characteristics of cadets determine individual differences in the dynamics of the development of basic motor abilities. This, in turn, necessitates a differentiated approach in the system of physical training.
