The article examines and analyzes the peculiarities of the functioning of the physical education system in the People's Republic of China. Today, the system of physical education in China is undergoing many changes and reforms. Physical culture and sports are one of the important branches of the national economy, which is developing at a frantic pace along with the entire country. The intensive development of the market economy affects those changes that occur in the physical education of children of preschool, school age, and student youth. Recently, the Chinese government has been paying a lot of attention to the development of physical culture and sports, especially among the younger generation and youth, and this is evidenced by the large number of resolutions and regulations approved by the government - this is the "National System of Physical Culture and Sports" and, above all, it is the strengthening and improving the health of the nation. The process of physical education in the People's Republic of China takes the form of regular lessons, extracurricular activities and sports competitions, hikes, trips, excursions, etc. The physical education course is the main form of education in educational institutions of various types and levels. The article provides data on the specifics of the organization of the physical education process in China, presents mandatory and optional components of the school physical education program and features of physical education classes in higher education institutions of the People's Republic of China.
