Impact of Online Learning Platforms on Academic Performance: A Case Study of Rural Schools in Bangladesh

The study investigates the influence of e-learning platforms in promoting academic efficiency among Bangladeshi rural students by utilizing a paper-based questionnaire on educational ICT and the e-learning experience. The study uses a mixed method through a survey and interview to determine how the online learning platform has been used, its impact, and the challenges the organization might have faced. More specifically, the study intends to identify the level of adoption of online learning platforms in contrast to those in rural schools, along with measuring how online learning platforms affect student examination performance and investigate what problems both rural teachers and students encounter in these deprived areas. This article uses mixed methods to achieve this aim: quantitative academic records and qualitative data from interviews and surveys of students, teachers, and administrators in rural schools in selected parts of Bangladesh.The study established that teachers from rural schools used online learning platforms with significant outcomes towards student academic performance. Still, it points to a list of issues like multiple device access, poor content, and the lack of in-the-moment support for e-skills. Although those are high barriers to overcome, this evidence suggests that such infrastructure and support could improve educational outcomes in rural areas with online learning platforms.Overall, this articulation has effectively brought out the nature of the use of online learning platforms in rural education and provided the grounds that make it successful.
