The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) serve as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all. It is a comprehensive framework for addressing global challenges and promoting sustainable development. However, Nigeria, Africa's most populous nation, like many developing countries is facing significant challenges in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations. This paper identifies these key challenges impeding Nigeria’s progress towards the SDGs and explores opportunities for overcoming these barriers and offers recommendations to accelerate progress towards sustainable development in Nigeria.
