Job employability is one of the leading indicators in evaluating the effectiveness of the university’s educational strategies to offer good quality academic programs and meeting the job market expectation. In the context of Malaysian Public University (MPU), job employability has played an important role in implementing the government’s aspiration to increase the involvement of the community in the national economy through tertiary education. Therefore, the objective of this study is to investigate the job employability trend among alumni. The analysis was applied to the undergraduate degree data of 13,512 respondents from the year 2006 to 2018, by extracting them from the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education’s university tracer study system (SKPG2). Several hypotheses had been developed and tested by using the Chi-Square test and Cross Tabulation technique using SPSS 22.0. All the tested hypotheses produced significant results. Several comparisons were analyzed based on two situations, during the convocation and SKPG2 exercise, which shows the occurrence of job transition trend among alumni from the private jobs and owned business to government jobs status. In addition, the average received salary by these respondents was mostly below RM3,000 only which falls into the B2 group of the Malaysian’s B40 household income category. A sharp decremental in alumni business participation after postgraduation is worrying and show a new initiative needs to be taken in achieving the university’s aspiration. It is hoped that this study could help the university administrators to revisit and reformulate the organization’s strategies in striving the main objective of the institution.
