Micro-phasor measurement units (micro-PMUs) have emerged as a pivotal technology for utility monitoring, offering ultra-high resolution and more reliable data than conventional smart meters. To this end, this paper is divided into two segments. Firstly, we introduce the specifications and real micro-PMU data from a field deployment, highlighting their uniqueness to utility distribution grid analytics over traditional monitoring devices. Subsequently, the paper comprises a comprehensive data analysis section, presenting a case study and the impact on overall utility grid power quality with high penetration of distributed energy resources. This field implementation aims to assess the impact and lessons learned from a real utility grid with a high concentration of DERs, including utility-scale battery energy storage and solar-wind integration.
