The purpose of this study is to examine the perception of both the illustration and electronic work development process for the subject of Korean in the elementary and secondary grades of the 2022 revised Basic Education Curriculum. It also aims to offer future directions for the development of illustrations and electronic works. In-depth interviews were conducted with researchers, writers, companies responsible for illustrations and electronic works, publishers, and research companies involved in the curriculum textbook compilation project. All interview data were transcribed and analyzed using repetitive comparative analysis. As a result, 3 major topics and 10 sub-categories were derived for the recognition of the illustration development process, furthemore 3 major topics and 9 sub-categories were derived for the recognition of the electronic work development process. Since the curriculum is applied to students requiring special education enrolled in special schools under the 2022 revised basic curriculum, the development of curriculum textbooks for students with severe disabilities has become more important than ever. To this end, it is necessary to prepare a system to reduce trial and error in the compilation of curriculum textbooks and increase the proportion of electronic work development.
