The article presents the main problematic issues regarding the effectiveness of aerial reconnaissance with the help of unmanned aircraft systems and ways to solve them, taking into account the experience of the russian-Ukrainian war. The object of the study is the performance of reconnaissance and reconnaissance-combat tasks by unmanned aircraft systems and systems during the reconnaissance support of operations (combat operations). The role of aerial reconnaissance using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) has recently increased dramatically. The main reason for this is the low cost compared to reconnaissance aircraft and the rapid deployment of UAVs. Thus, reconnaissance UAVs are assigned the following tasks: reconnaissance; artillery fire adjustment; situational awareness. The data obtained during aerial reconnaissance using UAVs are critical for planning, conducting and evaluating the results of military operations. As practice has shown, it is not recommended to use off-the-shelf neural networks for recognizing objects on the ground, because the recognition speed is slow and the power of existing mini-PCs is not enough for real-time recognition on board a UAV, and they are not suitable for UAV autonomy tasks. It is necessary to create a separate neural network and train it using satellite images. To determine the aerodynamic corrections to the UAV's air pressure receivers, the “loop” method is suitable, in which GPS coordinates are used instead of a measurement base, and aerodynamic corrections to the altitude are determined by formulas. The scientific novelty consists in a comprehensive approach to the issue of improving the effectiveness of aerial reconnaissance from the point of view of improving navigation and flight technical characteristics. Thanks to the practical use of artificial intelligence and the method of analysis of hierarchies, it is proposed to improve the quality of evaluation of the criteria for the effectiveness of aerial reconnaissance with the help of unmanned aircraft systems. The results of the research are of practical importance and can be used in the development of the latest reconnaissance UAVs and the improvement of existing ones to evaluate the effectiveness of aerial reconnaissance.
