The article summarizes theoretical aspects, specifies the features and results of sustainable development of the modern pharmaceutical industry in Russia. Key areas, tasks and stages of monitoring the sustainable development of the industry in the context of its modernization are highlighted. Directions for expanding the information and methodological base in the digital environment are determined to improve the quality of monitoring the sustainable development of the industry and provide information to interested users.
