Industrial solid waste poses significant environmental and economic challenges due to its volume and potential hazards. Several industrial activities, such as mining, chemical production, textile, food processing, construction, and power plants contribute to industrial solid waste generation. Industrial solid waste can be classified into several categories, including hazardous, non-hazardous, organic, and inorganic waste. Direct release of industrial solid waste into the environment can cause several health impacts. It is a need for effective recycling and utilization of industrial solid waste through proper waste management methods. The recycling technologies for industrial solid waste, include metallic, non-metallic, hazardous, and non-hazardous materials. Effective waste management practices reduce environmental impact, conserve resources, and promote sustainability by converting waste into valuable products and energy. This review provides a comprehensive overview of industrial solid waste management practices aimed at mitigating environmental impacts. Integrating advanced recycling methods can significantly improve the recycling and utilization of industrial solid waste, contributing to a more sustainable and circular economy.
