Research on the Impact of Digital Economy on High-Quality Economic Development from the Perspective of Virtual Agglomeration

随着我国经济由高速增长阶段向高质量发展阶段转型，数字经济的发展与实现经济高质量发展目标之间存在着紧密联系。文章基于我国2011~2021年中国各个省份的数据，实证检验了数字经济与高质量发展之间的影响机制，以及虚拟集聚在其中发挥的作用。结果表明，数字经济对经济高质量发展起到了积极的促进作用，该结论在经过稳健性检验后依然成立。进一步的检验结果显示，数字经济通过虚拟集聚，对经济高质量发展具有正向促进作用。异质性分析结果表明，数字经济对东部地区、西部地区与东北地区经济高质量发展的影响更加显著。With China’s economy transitioning from a high-speed growth phase to a high-quality development phase, there is a close connection between the development of the digital economy and the realization of high-quality economic development goals. Based on data from various provinces in China from 2011 to 2021, this paper empirically examines the impact mechanism between the digital economy and high-quality development, as well as the role played by virtual agglomeration. The results show that the digital economy has a positive promoting effect on high-quality economic development, and this conclusion remains valid after robustness testing. Further tests reveal that the digital economy positively promotes high-quality economic development through virtual agglomeration. Heterogeneity analysis shows that the digital economy has a more significant impact on high-quality economic development in eastern, western, and northeastern regions.
