The article is devoted to the formation of a typology of scientific and technological infrastructure in order to improve the efficiency of management of its spatial development in the regions of Russia. The study found that the registers of scientific and technological infrastructure objects in Russia have significant discrepancies. It is noted that the National rating of scientific and technological development of the Russian Federation subjects focuses on infrastructure facilities created within the framework of government programs, and often does not take into account the initiatives of business, universities and regional authorities, which leads to the underestimation of the unique potential of territories. According to the results of the analysis, three criteria for the typology of scientific and technological infrastructure were identified: functional purpose, organizational structure, and initiator of creation. In accordance with them, 29 key infrastructure objects were selected and systematized. It is shown that their spatial distribution is characterized by a pronounced concentration in a limited number of western regions of Russia.
