This study aims to explore dynamics of biohacking and artificial intelligence in Divya’s (2021) Machinehood. Drawing upon the notions of posthumanism as propounded by Hayles (1999), the study critically analyzes the post-human condition, examining the impact of technology on human identity, and blurring the lines between humans and machines as depicted in Machinehood. Posthuamnism in general challenges traditional notions of human identity and agency by blurring boundaries between humans, animals, and machines. It explores the intersections of technology, biology, and culture, redefining what it means o be human. The findings of this study reveal the complicated strands of Al's impact, highlighting the characters' difficult decisions and large-scale changes in posthuman society. Through a posthumanist perspective, it becomes evident that the narrative is a critical commentary on the potential consequences of unchecked technological progress, emphasizing the need for balanced and ethical approaches in integrating Al and biohacking into society. Further, it reveals how technology has disoriented and displaced humans and how it has paved the way for a future where they may coexist harmoniously with advancements by redefining their very existence. The significance of the study lies in its societal and ethical implications regarding biohacking and Al, providing valuable insights for researchers, practitioners and educators concerning the use of technology and its impact on human identity, agency and socioeconomic dynamics.
