The lack of access to water caused by an interruption in the supply of electricity may have particular consequences in agricultural areas, where, in addition to consumption in family households, water is used, among others, for irrigating crops, watering livestock or washing livestock rooms. Therefore, a longer interruption in water supply to farms, especially those that specialise in animal breeding, may result in a crisis situation. The article attempts to answer the question to what extent agricultural areas are prepared for crisis situations, which may result in interruptions in the supply of electricity and the resulting lack of water supply. Particular attention was paid to the importance of emergency power supply to water supply systems. This issue is important especially in the context of the hybrid activities of the Russian Federation, the aim of which is, among others, the critical infrastructure of Western European countries.
