From the first pages, the scientific study immerses a reader in the life and creativity of Vasyl Oleksandrovych Shchavynskyi, his goals and achievements, ups and downs, devotion to Ukraine. This work consists of five chapters: Years of Formation; Unique Achievements of V. Shchavynskyi as a Scientist and Collector; Activity of V. Shchavynskyi in the Field of Ukrainian Studies; Fate of V. Shchavynskyi’s Collection; Book treasures from the library collection of V. Shchavynskyi. Through the prism of biographical studies with a wide range of documentary sources, they introduce the personality of Vasyl Shchavynskyi. The presentation of the material interspersed with historical pages of our state at that time and a significant number of famous figures of Ukrainian culture who worked and created alongside Vasyl Shchavynskyi is interesting and instructive. First of all, this monograph is intended for scientists, culturologists, cognoscentes, bibliographers, as well as for everyone who is interested in the history of science and culture, the role of this figure in the Ukrainian history.
