Abstract

The paper examines various approaches to the periodization of regional policy in the USSR and the Russian Federation. The periodizations proposed by leading Russian researchers are analyzed and summarized, and a concept for the implementation of regional socio-economic policy based on three organizational and economic mechanisms is proposed: an action plan, government programs, and civil society programs.
