Electric vehicles have significant potential to mitigate urban challenges arising from decades of transport planning that favored private, fossil-fuel-powered vehicles. One approach that enhances the benefits of this technology is electric vehicle sharing, a system based on short-term rentals tailored to user demand. This study, through a literature review, examines the key factors influencing the adoption of this system as a strategy for sustainable urban mobility. The findings indicate that shared electric mobility can reduce environmental impacts and enhance urban quality of life. However, its large-scale implementation still faces obstacles, including user acceptance barriers and the complexity of dynamic system management.
