The article clarifies the concepts of neologism and neophraseology (neophrasis), and analyzes new phraseological units that have emerged in the context of the Russian-Ukrainian war with attention to their methods of creation, structure, and stylistic functions. Newly created and modified neophrases related to the Russian-Ukrainian war are substantiated and illustrated with examples drawn from media discourse. The study defines their role within the language system and their functions in the speech of Ukrainians. Observation of the media language demonstrates that the phraseological system of the Ukrainian language actively reflects all the changes associated with the new realities of full-scale Russian aggression against Ukraine. Many of them arise through the rethinking of free word combinations, their determinologization, metaphorization and metonymization. It has been found that among neophrases, a notable place is occupied by stable word combinations, which include toponyms-oikonyms (city names), toponyms-horonyms (country names) and toponymic adjectives. The study concludes that the phraseological system of the modern Ukrainian language quickly responds to events in the socio-political life of the country, particularly those related to the Russian-Ukrainian war. This emphasizes the idea that the language of Ukrainian media is in constant development, replenishing the phraseological composition of the modern Ukrainian language. New phraseological units reflect current realities, and their appearance is caused by both the events of the Russian-Ukrainian war and global events. The analyzed neophrases testify to the creative potential of Ukrainians, their ability to respond to military events through language, and the flexibility and adaptability of the Ukrainian language, its ability to be a means of communication in constantly changing communication conditions.
