Under the background of globalization, the integration of language and culture is becoming increasingly important in English teaching. This paper systematically discusses the current situation of traditional Chinese culture in English teaching, analyzes its specific manifestations, existing problems and challenges in teaching materials, course design, homework forms and assessment systems, and puts forward suggestions for improvement. The research finds that although some elements of traditional Chinese culture have been incorporated into English teaching, there are still deficiencies in the degree of integration, teaching methods and evaluation system, which limit students’ understanding and identification of traditional Chinese culture and affect the improvement of their cross-cultural communication ability and cultural self-confidence. This study believes that by optimizing the content of teaching materials, innovating teaching methods and improving the evaluation system, the integration effect of traditional Chinese culture in English teaching can be effectively enhanced, high-quality talents with profound cultural heritage and international vision can be cultivated, and the inheritance and development of Chinese culture can be promoted.
