The study aimed to provide a comparison of the most important world university rankings, to show the similarities and differences between them, and to suggest appropriate administrative mechanisms to improve the ranking of Palestinian universities in these rankings. To achieve the study objectives, the researchers used descriptive analytical-synthetic methodology. The researchers came up with a presentation of the most important international university rankings; Shanghai, Times, Webometrics, QS, and Leiden, and explained the most important similarities and differences between them. They also presented the most appropriate administrative mechanisms to employ these rankings in order to improve the ranking of Palestinian universities in these rankings, specifically by establishing a special unit for global rankings, leadership, and strengthening partnerships and twinning with international universities with a high academic and research reputation.
