The article examines the Muscovisation of Ukrainian terminology using phytonyms broskvyna, voloskyi horikh, irha, and tsytryna. The historical processes of deliberate displacement of native Ukrainian names of plants by Russian analogues, which is a manifestation of linguistic expansion and the policy of Russification, are analyzed. The importance of restoring authentic Ukrainian phytonyms into scientific circulation, official documentation, and general use to pre-serve national linguistic identity and cultural identity is emphasized. The etymology and history of the use of these phytonyms are considered, identifying targeted cases of the imposition of Russian terms and their consolidation in dictionaries and regulatory documents. The necessity of the revision and elimination of Muscovisms and streamlining terminology in accordance with modern botanical classifications and national word-formation traditions is substantiated. The importance of promoting correct Ukrainian plant names is highligted.
