Development of creativity and appreciation of territory in teaching arts and sustainability for early childhood education

In order to promote quality education based on the teaching of arts in early childhood education, studies were conducted on creativity and child development, and their relationship with the organization of space, territory and local culture. To this end, bibliographical research was conducted on these topics, as well as a field study at an early childhood education school. Based on the survey and diagnosis, using the Systemic Design methodology as a reference, improvements on the system under study were proposed. This included the development of a pedagogical device (called Tessela) to stimulate the creativity of teachers/facilitators in the preparation of lesson plans, which, in turn, should stimulate creativity and the practice of sustainability principles. The device was subjected to some tests for its improvement. Based on this experience, future possibilities are envisaged as creation of new kits for different educational contexts, age groups and themes, in a multidisciplinary approach to a culture of sustainability.
