Event tourism is one of the most dynamically developing areas of the tourism industry. The article considers modern trends in the development of event tourism in the Kaluga region, analyzes key events, their impact on the tourist flow and the economy of the region. Based on the analysis of scientific literature, statistical data and observations, the main drivers and barriers to the development of this type of tourism are identified. It is concluded that event tourism is the most important element of the development strategy of the Kaluga region, combining cultural heritage, creative practices and the tourism economy. Continuing systematic work in this direction will ensure not only an increase in tourist flow, but also the formation of a new quality of interaction between the territory, residents and guests of the region.
