The article presents a methodological apparatus for simulating the operation of a pumping and accumulator lubrication system of a diesel internal combustion engine, which evaluates the reliability of such a lubrication system and the internal combustion engine as a whole for two stages in its life cycle and for two levels of operation management. An approach to evaluating the efficiency and reliability of a pump-battery lubrication system for diesel internal combustion engines during its operation in urban passenger transportation is defined.
