In what follows, we propose to analyze a painful issue in the Bessarabian space, namely the drama of deportations and the forms of resistance of the individual in the totalitarian society. In this sense, we will examine the testimony reflected in the book O progenitură duşmană, by Nicolae Negru, which represents an appeal to memory about the drama of deportations from Bessarabia. The author reconstructs, in a docudrama style, the experiences of his family deported to Siberia, exposing the ideological-and geopolitical impact on his childhood. The writing combines harsh realism with emotional reflections, highlighting the identity rupture and social stigmatization experienced by Bessarabians. The narrator takes on the role of a grandfather storyteller, building a sincere and profound intergenerational dialogue. In essence, the book exposes the repressive mechanisms of the Soviet regime, highlighting the subtleties through which propaganda manipulated consciences and tried to annihilate national identity. Thus, speaking on the basis of this testimony and keeping our analysis within the limits of the textual framework, we managed to highlight the identity rupture and the mechanisms through which a wave of resistance was formed, because just as a single individual assumed a solitary fight with the system, this momentum multiplied at a certain point, and the system began to crack. That is why we considered it appropriate to speak about this testimony of Nicolae Negru, while also having the task of capitalizing on this text.
