Analysis of Sustainable Development of the Regions of the Russian Federation

This study introduces an original methodology for a comprehensive assessment of sustainable development in regional systems, emphasizing the integration of economic, social, and environmental dimensions. It provides a review of theoretical and regulatory foundations of sustainability and highlights key indicators and their incorporation into analytical practices. The research stresses the multilevel nature of sustainability and the need for flexible governance tools adapted to the spatial heterogeneity of Russian regions. It demonstrates that sustainable development is achievable through the balanced evolution of core subsystems and by enhancing regional adaptability to current challenges. The findings support the formulation of strategic directions in regional policy aimed at advancing towards a sustainable development model aligned with national security and long-term economic growth goals.
