Abstract

In the first phase of Korea-4GSR, 10 beamlines are planned to be constructed. Among them, three are assigned as life science related beamlines: the BioPharma-BioSAXS beamline, the Bio Nano Crystallography (BioNX) beamline, and the High Energy Microscopy (HEM) beamline. The BioPharma-BioSAXS beamline is designated as an industry-priority beamline, which will primarily support industrial use. Both the BioSAXS and BioNX beamlines will be utilized for three-dimensional structural analysis of biomacromolecules using solution and crystallized samples, respectively. The HEM beamline will provide non-destructive three-dimensional projection imaging of biological samples as well as industrial products for quality inspection, enabling comprehensive structural analysis. These beamlines will be constructed to meet world-class standards, which are expected to significantly advance the competence of life science in Korea.
