This paper presents a study on the current state of the Thành Hoàng worship - an inseparable part of Vietnamese spiritual culture - at Tân An communal house, located in Phu An Ward, Ho Chi Minh City. The objective of the research is to gain a deeper understanding of how this belief system is preserved and practiced in the context of a society undergoing significant economic, social, and cultural changes, as well as to identify the challenges and opportunities for its continuity and development. The findings indicate that although the belief of Thành Hoàng remains respected and maintained as an important part of spiritual life, there have been notable changes in its actual practice. The study proposes several solutions and initiatives for preserving and promoting this belief, such as integrating traditional culture into education and community activities - thereby contributing to the safeguarding and enhancement of folk culture in the modern era.
