Abstract: This “Recent Research in Singing” article chronicles four academic documents authored during 2025. Author Min Ji Cho explores appropriate vocal techniques for the preparation and performance of Gwyneth Walker’s work Exploring the Sun and Love . Next, the role of a vocal coach as a regular part of the Broadway musical production team is advocated by Amanda Flynn in her dissertation. Author Anika McIntosh discusses lessons learned from the shifts in instructional practices demanded by the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, author Yue Shui explores five baritone roles to demonstrate Verdi’s evolving techniques in portraying the inner lives of characters over time.
