The current situation in the fi eld of combating Russian professional crime indicates that effectiveness of these efforts largely depends on the improvement of criminal law and penal enforcement legislation within the framework of solving of this complex task. That is why it is necessary to adjust existing and adopt new legal norms, in particular, the legislation defi nition of signs of abprofessional criminal as abcriminal category. In turn, this implies specifi c legal consequences in the appointment and execution of criminal punishment to persons classifi ed by abcourt decision in this category. The evidence of the presence of signs of criminal professionalism in the committed crime and the connection of the deed by the guilty subject with its corresponding characteristics should be refl ected in the verdict and refl ected in the conditions of serving the prescribed punishment.
