Subject. The article discusses the digitalization of public administration. Objectives. The study aims to define the specifics of Russia's transition from e-government to digital government, identify promising areas for the development of digital governance in Russia. Methods. The study employs general scientific methods of research. It is based on the review of scientific publications on the research topic, analysis of regulatory documents and statistical data on the use of digital technologies in the field of public administration. Results. The paper presents an overview of the main stages of electronic government development of the Russian Federation and the transition to digitalization of the public services sector. The analysis of existing trends in digitalization, I developed recommendations on the most effective implementation of digital technologies in the work of public authorities. Conclusions. The introduction of digital technologies in public administration has significant potential to improve the efficiency and quality of services. However, a successful digital transformation requires an integrated approach, including strategy development, investments in infrastructure and training, and improvement of legal framework.
